As part of the inaugural Restless Natives festival, HGFF are proud to announce the second Glasgow screening of Fernando Perez’s ‘La Pared de Las Palabras’.
“A once close family implodes when a sibling finally succumbs to a disease that leaves him disabled. This is a sometimes dark but ultimately uplifting tale about the depth of the paths of human communication.”
Brought to you by Cuba’s most famous director, this drama was a smash hit with the first HGFF audience and is a film not to be missed.
Speaking of the showing, HGFF director Eiriene Houston said: “This is the film which convinced me that there had to be a Havana Glasgow Film Festival. I can honestly say that it is now one of my favourite (if not my actual favourite) films of all time. It comes from a place of truth and shows the beauty of the human spirit.”
The venue will also play host to the launch event for this year’s HGFF. Although this is an invite only occasion, there are extended invites to the buyers of the first 59 screening tickets. Guests will be treated to an evening of Cuban/Scottish culture including film shorts, DJ’s and dancing, live music, complimentary refreshment on arrival and a taste of Havana inspired cuisine.
