Reprising their memorable collaboration at 2017’s Edinburgh Fringe, two acts from Scotland’s close-knit indie-folk/art-pop community share a resplendent programme, revelling in the synergy of their respective success. Glasgow’s Modern Studies, recently signed to Fire Records, deploy their wonderfully shonky instrumentation in bracingly beefed-up new songs from their imminent second album, while Lomond Campbell (aka Ziggy from Edinburgh’s FOUND collective) performs his full-length solo debut Black River Promise, complete with lavish studio arrangements – both acts being joined by the dozen-strong strings/brass Pumpkinseed Chamber Orchestra, named for Modern Studies bassist Pete Harvey’s Perthshire studio.
