Zac Scott – “For The Love Of…” Debut Album Launch Party

Thu 30th Apr 2020

Zac Scott is a Glasgow based acoustic singer-songwriter who has spent the past two years writing and recording a distinctive collection of songs inspired by the land – and sound – scapes of Scotland and Iceland, resulting in his debut album “For The Love Of…” The album comprises of 12 memorable and powerful pop songs that blend acoustic piano, intimate and layered vocals, cello, violin, drums and electric guitars, to create an ethereal and evocative sound.

Following the recent release of debut single Fox, follow up single Million (BBC Radio Scotland’s first Single of the Week of 2020) and showcases across Glasgow in 2019 (Old Hairdressers, The Glad Café & The CCA) Zac will launch his debut album in a special one-off live show at Glasgow’s iconic Saint Luke’s on Thursday, April 30th 2020 with support from special guests.

In a strikingly visual live show with 7-piece band featuring Cameron Black, Kenny Cormack, Thomas Brumby, Sarah McWhinney, Gudrun Soley Sigurdardottir and Joe Standley, Zac will showcase the album’s material in full. Influenced by the likes of James Blake, David Gray, Arcade Fire and Olafur Arnalds, he is steadily building his reputation across Scotland on the strength of his vast arrangements, collaborative ventures and intricate writing practices.

“I am so thrilled to FINALLY be sharing “For The Love Of…” says Zac. “We’ve been working hard on the live show and finding ways to build more of an intense and intimate atmosphere. The preview show at the CCA last Autumn was a lot of fun – we’re proud of the results and it is now time to celebrate the successes of the last few years at one of Glasgow’s top venues!”.
