Daylight Sessions (Anton O’Donnell + Groove Bakers + Emilie Boyd)

Sun 3rd Dec 2017

A lazy afternoon with music, brunch, tea and cake. An event for all ages. Produced by Saint Luke’s. Free entry* (*suggested donation £5.00)

The ATC sound draws on numerous influences: the pristine vocal harmonies of country and bluegrass, raucous bluesy guitars, the tight swinging rhythms of classic soul and funk with Anton’s sweet smokey growl accompanied by tales of love, regret, addiction, good times, bad times and everything in-between. Since their inception in June ’14 and the release of their debut EP, ‘6:45 & 450 Down’ at the beginning of 2015, the band has played numerous venues and festivals throughout Scotland including Glasgow’s ABC, King Tuts; the Belladrum festival in Inverness and the enchanting Eden festival. The miles travelled and the countless hours of stage time has helped shape a sound that takes many twists and turns during their live set. It’s a journey of sound and emotions that they hope to capture and recreate with their debut album due for release early 2018.

Groove Bakers born as an ensemble of musicians with different cultural and music experiences. Mark Mulder is a highly talented up and coming guitarist in Glasgow. Since his arrival in Glasgow from Melbourne, Australia, in late 2016, he has been a vibrant part of the Glasgow music community. Mark has a unique style of playing which mixes blues, jazz, funk and Latin musical influences. Martina Alberi, starts her vocal career about two years ago, in Glasgow, growing her vocal skills in different cover band projects-soul, blues, rock orientated. She is also active just now in a original band, Traffic Jam, a taste of the past 70s into modern sounds.

Fergus McCreadie is an award-winning pianist and one of Scotland’s most exciting young musicians. He regularly performs all over Scotland. Emilie Boyd is a vocalist with several different bands on the Glasgow scene and is known for creative interpretations of songs. Together they bring energy and originality to the songs they love to play.
